Summary

The Andreevskiy Office complex is an 86,000 m2 building planned to be built in the Podol neighborhood of Kiev, a historic district known for its well-preserved buildings. The site is prominently located along the Andreevskiy descent that winds down steeply around the forested Zamkova Hora hill, connecting Kiev’s Upper Town neighborhood to Kontraktova Square in the Podil. Inspired by this dramatic terrain, the landscape attempts to continue the experience of the natural forest within the built environment both through the planting palate that is derived from the existing vegetation of the forest and the changing levels within the courtyard that are a contemporary interpretation of the descent. These spaces can accommodate multiple programmatic uses thereby creating an experientially varied landscape for the users. Centrally located within the building, the visually graphic nature of the landscape can be visible from all the floors of the building.
