The landscape at 117th St Equities is a rich mix of passive and active recreation complimenting the needs of the diverse community in residence. Located in West Harlem, the landscape at the new development recognizes the needs and voices of the senior citizens, children, working parents and coming of age community members in the neighborhood. Optimizing an indoor/outdoor lifestyle the rooftop and rear garden allow residents to have a common backyard that provides flexible recreation opportunities within the privacy of their own homes.

Encouraging healthy and active living through design inspires residents to get outside, move their bodies and touch the earth. Building a beautiful common space with quality materials that will last for generations inspires residents to engage in the outdoor urban environment and become active members of their resident community.

The rooftop garden is a dynamic space that takes advantage of the open views of Central Park and Morningside Park, incorporating six different spaces that accommodate various scales of use. Appealing to intimate conversations, individual head space, midsized gatherings and celebrations, the rooftop garden provides opportunities for sun bathing, sun showers, evenings by the fire, mixed group seating under a shady canopy, bleacher seating for outdoor movies and an outdoor kitchen with community dining table. A blend of canopy and open meadow filters the view of the city beyond letting residents experience the freedom of the open sky and the refreshing breeze.
