South Brooklyn Revitalization
A robust engagement effort helped shape a vision for equitable future development in South Brooklyn. Working alongside long-time community advocates, the planning team hosted multicultural public meetings and held focused conversations with key stakeholders to inform a roadmap for critical neighborhood improvements—such as affordable housing, expanded green space, and improved streetscapes.
The area’s cultural diversity offered a unique opportunity to build consensus across a wide spectrum of voices, including residents, advocacy groups, local businesses, and elected officials. The engagement process prioritized inclusive, multilingual spaces where stakeholders could gather, share their experiences, and help shape planning outcomes. The result is a community-centered roadmap that offers strategic direction on broader equity issues while also identifying opportunities for meaningful, block-level change.
